Whitehorse pharmacist Darrell Pasloski won the leadership of the Yukon Party in May 2011, replacing Dennis Fentie who retired after nearly a decade as Yukon Premier. Darrell Pasloski automatically became Yukon Premier, which is quite an achievement for the relatively new politician. Darrell Pasloski has not held political office before, although he did run for the Conservative Party of Canada in the Yukon riding in the 2008 Canadian federal election.
Darrell Pasloski's style is likely to be far more collegial and team-oriented than the aggressive charge-ahead manner of former Premier Fentie. One of his first priorities will be deciding on a date for a Yukon general election in the fall of 2011.
